The event, of festive activities and community connection, marked a key moment for the area.
The event took place during the Rossnowlagh Farmers Market on Friday, December 6, and marked the first official community Christmas tree in the area.
The morning kicked off with a special visit from Mrs Claus who brought some festive cheer straight from the North pole.
Following this, children from Creevy National School sung a beautiful selection of Christmas Carols. The Creevy NS kids alongside pre-schoolers from Kids Kove Creevy hung their own decorations on the Christmas tree, emphasising the community nature of the tree.
The morning concluded with the crowd joining in for the countdown to the turning on of the Christmas tree lights, creating a special moment for all who attended.
The Rossnowlagh Farmers Market has quickly become a beloved part of the local community, providing a space to support local producers and enjoy fresh, high-quality products.
Since its launch in early June, the market has become a community favourite, offering a diverse selection each week. Shoppers can find farm-fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables, organic eggs, and artisan organic sourdough, alongside nutrient-dense microgreens and organic lamb. The market also features a variety of home-baked goods and treats, as well as hand-crafted arts and crafts from local artisans.
The market has evolved to become a central hub for the community, hosting regular events alongside the weekly stalls and inviting the community along for a cuppa each week. The market is a hub where people from Rossnowlagh and beyond connect. It’s as much about the produce as it is about building community relationships and fostering a place to come together.
