In Pictures: A look back at Triona Donegal Town's 10th birthday celebrations

The Mulhern family celebrated with a wonderful customer appreciation evening which featured in Donegal Life magazine earlier this year

Triona celebrated ten years on the Diamond in Donegal Town earlier this year with a wonderful and very well attended customer appreciation evening. Guests on the beautiful July evening included local representatives, members of the Donegal Town business community, and many of Triona’s loyal customers. Those present were treated to a drinks and canapés reception in keeping with the Triona ethos of the best quality Donegal craft. Food was provided by Peter Campbell Catering with drinks by James Doherty of Sliabh Liag Distillers, and Martin McHugh of MCR.

Singer and musician Sarah O’Donnell delighted those gathered with her unique and soulful take on well known songs from across the decades.

Mayor of Donegal Town Anna Gallagher said: “While we gather here in our beautiful Diamond to celebrate this decade of style and substance, it is important to remember that Triona Design’s roots go even deeper, back to their long established presence in Ardara where their legacy of Irish tweed and traditional craftsmanship was nurtured and passed on through generations.

“For 40 years they have epitomised the best of Irish design, drawing from our rich heritage and weaving it quite literally into the fabric of everything they do. From handwoven tweed and luxurious wool and carefully sourced materials, Triona has managed to blend tradition and elegance with heritage and innovation.

“Their flagship store here in Donegal Town nestles proudly on our Diamond has added more than just fashion to our street, it has added a touch of grace, a mark of quality and a celebration of Irish identity.

“Triona doesn’t just compliment the facade of our town, it enhances it. It reminds visitors and locals alike that Donegal doesn’t just sell style, it creates style. It is style!

“The success of Triona design is not only in their exquisite garments and refined collection, it is in its people - the warm professionalism and deep knowledge of the staff here make every visit to their store a memorable experience. They embody the same values woven into every coat, scarf and garment they sell - care, authenticity and quality.”

Kieran Mulhern thanked everyone who came along.

“We are very happy to be here, very happy to be part of this town,” he said. “There is a great ambience and everybody works together, works in harmony.”

Kieran had a special word of thanks for everyone who has been a part of the Triona story.

“From the Mulhern family to the whole team, to Pauline and her team that have been running the whole show here, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” he said.

“It goes without saying that you are part of our family - it is one big family here.”
