Junior A Championship: Guide through the 11 clubs hoping to win county glory

Eleven teams will participate in the Junior A championship this season and hope to replicate what Na Rossa did last season, following their success in the county final against Moville. But who will come out on top in 2024

PETTIGO

Manager: Pat Gallagher

Last year championship: Won the Senior C Championship

This year ACFL: Last in Division 3

First two opponents: Carndonagh (h); Naomh Bríd (h)

Prospects: This won't be an easy task for the border club as they make the big push to the Junior championship and their league form showed that. They took great momentum from last year's season despite beating mainly reserve teams in their path. They lost in the Division 4 final before winning championship glory later in the year. But only managing to win one out of 11 games – which came against fellow struggles Naomh Padraig Leifear – highlights that this will be a step too far for Pettigo. They failed to field in the league against Carndonagh, while they lost by 10 points to rivals Naomh Bríd.
