A well-known Laois gastropub has been put on the market this week.

Hogan's Bar and Restaurant in Coolrain, known for it's historic 200 year old building, has been put up for sale.

Formerly Sheeran's Pub, the property was bought by Lar Hogan in 2014. 

Opening in January of 2015, Mr Hogan has run the business for over ten years.

For sale by private treaty with price on application, this 226 year old property is one of only three thatched pubs in Laois.

This is the second Laois pub to hit the market in the past two weeks, with Nanny Kelly's in Portlaoise also up for sale.

One of the most Iconic food and drink establishments in the entire region, Hogan's Bar Coolrain holds an important place in the region.

For generations it has been recognised as a special stop in the Sliabh Bloom mountains.
