Video highlights of Riverfest 2025 shows record-breaking crowds!

OVER 140,000 people danced, laughed, and created long-lasting memories in glorious sunshine at Riverfest Limerick 2025.

Limerick was a hot spot for the May bank holiday weekend, as the 21st year of Riverfest brought a roaring trade for local businesses, with buzzing bars, packed restaurants and bustling hotels reaping the rewards of Limerick’s biggest party.

The high energy of the thrilling festival has been captured in a new highlights video produced on behalf of Limerick City and County Council.

Eileen Coleman, senior executive officer of tourism at Limerick City and County Council, said: “Riverfest Limerick 2025 was met with incredible enthusiasm from the public, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The energy, excitement, and community spirit made this year’s festival truly special. Capturing just a taste of the festival’s energy, this highlights video might tempt even more people to make Limerick their go-to spot for the May Bank Holiday weekend, year after year.”

18,000 runners, joggers and walkers also took part in the Regeneron Great Limerick Run, smashing the participation record for that event.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, delighted in all the celebrations over the weekend. He said: “This year’s Riverfest was nothing short of spectacular, one of the best we’ve ever seen.

“The energy across the city was contagious, bringing people together in a wonderful display of community spirit. I want to sincerely thank our festival partners and the hardworking team at Limerick City and County Council for their dedication in making this event a resounding success.”

An action-packed line-up included the vibrant Riverfestival Village, the Panoramic Wheel, an adrenaline-pumping freefall, and the mouth-watering National All-Ireland BBQ Competition.

The festival also featured dazzling aerial performances, games and street theatre, a spectacular fireworks display, and much more, making it an unforgettable celebration of community spirit and joy.

Príomh Chomhairleoir of Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Dan McSweeney, added: “Riverfest Limerick 2025 was an unforgettable experience, showcasing the vibrant spirit of our community.

“Limerick was alive with incredible energy, and it was heartwarming to see everyone come together in celebration.

“A huge thank you to our festival partners and the dedicated team at Limerick City and County Council for their tireless efforts in making this event a phenomenal success.”
