The court was told the accused is currently in custody and there was no objection to bail

A man charged with a house burglary in Galway two years ago will have his case heard in the Circuit Court.

Andrew O'Hagan, with a previous address at Ballinafoyle Park, Headford Road, was brought from custody to Galway District Court to be charged with an offence contrary to Section 12 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud) Offences Act.

He is charged that on December 29, 2024 at Suan Sandyyale, Headford, he entered a property as a trespasser and attempted to commit and arrestable offence.

Detective Garda Nicola Gorman gave evidence of charging the accused at Galway Courthouse and he made no reply to the charge after caution.

The court was told the accused is currently in custody and there was no objection to bail.

Sgt Christy Browne said the Director of Public Prosecutions directed prosecution on indictment in the circuit criminal court with consent for a signed guilty plea, should it arise.

Judge Fiona Lydon adjourned the case to November 30.
