GSPCA calls for updated horse legislation
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The GSPCA says the law regarding micro-chipping horses 'badly needs to be updated and enforced'.
Spokesperson Margaret O'Sullivan says several public appeals were made over the Christmas period asking owners to move animals from flooded fields.
This was done as the ownership of the animals could not be ascertained.
The GSPCA says dealing with horses is taking up a serious amount of the organisations time because of the high number of calls in recent weeks.
Speaking on Galway Talks, Margaret O'Sullivan says legislation needs to be brought in for all horse owners.
