The works, which take place on the Galway border, are set to run until next Friday, with traffic management in operation
Mayo County Council have outlined their plans to tackle commuter disruption as aresult of roadworks on the Galway border, which are set to stretch into next week.
The road resurfacing works commenced today (Friday, August 7) and are set to run until next Friday, August 14, on the L-5643 Foxhall-Ballyheeragh road.
Due to the works being undertaken by the Council, a series of guidelines have been released.
Temporary traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works.
However, drivers are asked to allow extra time on their travels, with delays expected.
Commuters are also advised to use alternative routes over the course of the week, with emergency vehicles to be accommodated also.
