Mayo students visit Leinster House to learn about politics
Kiltimagh students meet Mayo TD Paul Lawless to learn about the work of the Dáil
Students and staff from St Louis Community School in Kiltimagh visited Leinster House recently, where they met Mayo TD Paul Lawless.
The group toured the Oireachtas buildings before sitting down with Deputy Lawless for a discussion about politics and the workings of the Dáil.
Deputy Lawless welcomed the visit, describing it as a pleasure to meet the students and staff and discuss how the political system operates.
The visit provided an opportunity for the students to learn more about the work of the Oireachtas, the role of TDs and the processes involved in parliamentary democracy.
The Kiltimagh school group’s visit represented an opportunity to see the workings of national politics first hand.
