The iconic RTÉ show returns on Friday, with Sam Maguire amongst the guests to grace the screen
Those tuning in to tomorrow evening’s edition of The Late Late Show are sure to see some familiar faces from this neck of the woods, as members of Mayo’s historic All-Ireland-winning side are set to hit the stage.
The popular RTÉ show, hosted by Patrick Kielty, is set to return from the Summer break with a bang, and as such, they are bringing on a big selection of guests.
‘The Traitors’ host and BAFTA-winner Siobhán McSeeney, The Script frontman Danny O’Donoghue, renowned actor Liam Neeson, and historian Catherine Corless will feature, but there’s only one show in town for Mayo folk.
Multiple members of the Mayo team and management, along with a certain Sam Maguire, will join Patrick on the stage to offer a peek behind the curtain at that famous day in Croke Park, when the Green and Red banished Kerry to end a 75-year famine.
Chief amongst them will be Andy Moran. The star from his playing days achieved history in his first campaign as bainisteoir, and will chart the outstanding maiden season at the helm.
Also making an appearance in Kobe McDonald. The youngster had never represented his county on the big stage, but streaked like a comet across Croke Park to bridge that long gap.
Lastly is Aidan O’Shea. The only outfield footballer to make 100 Championship appearances endured many of the hard days. Tomorrow, he will detail the ecstasy of finally reaching the promised land.
The Late Late Show will hit the screens at 9.35 pm on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
