The man was one who was well known in the locality, and his passing brought much sadness

THE death took place last week in the care of the staff at St Enda’s Ward, Galway Hospital, of Padraig Reaney, Gortnara, Claremorris, and formerly of Togher, Tuam.

Padraig was a kind, gentle and highly regarded member of the local community in the Gortnara and Barnacarroll area and was a man of gentle, kind and compassionate nature and a good neighbour to all in the area.

Reposing was in Gilligan’s Funeral Home, Claremorris, and following Mass in Barnacarroll Church celebrated by Fr Peter Gannon, PP, interment took place in the adjoining cemetery on Tuesday.

Padraig will be sadly missed by his wife Carmel, sons Patrick and Peter and daughter Mary (Regan), grandchildren Mary Louise, Kaytlyn, Rachel, Christopher, Louise, Daniel, Padraic, Joe, Elisha, Danielius and May, daughters-in-law, Breda and Teresa, son-in-law Seosamh and Peter’s partner Elizabeth, his sister Teasai (Teresa Dunne, Athenry and London), his brother Joe (Togher, Tuam), best friend and brother-in-law Michael Fahy (Milltown), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, his cousins the Treacy family, Spiddal, relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends. A tribute will be published later.
