The Claremorris man had many friends on either side of the Irish Sea across his life
TOM English, who died recently in London, following a long illness, was formerly of Lisduff, Claremorris.
He was a member of a well known Claremorris family and had resided in London for many years.
Tom was an employee of Claremorris Bacon Company before leaving for England where he quickly settled into new work and making new friends.
Among those paying tribute was Anthony Gibson who commented: “Countless great times were had with Tom back in the Tottenham days around the Ship and beyond.”
Reposing took place at the WG Miller Funeral Home, Essex Road, last Thursday, and was followed by the funeral service in St Ignatius Church on Friday, with burial afterwards in St Pancras Cemetery.
Tom, who was predeceased by his parents Paddy and Rose and his sister Elizabeth and grandnieces, will be sadly missed by his daughters, Katie and Irene, sons Tommy and Danny and their partners, their mother Tracy and grandchildren, his sisters Mary, Margaret, Kathleen and Patricia, brothers John, Paddy and Jarlath and their families.
