Saw Doctors asked to play at Mayo Homecoming but unable to perform

The official homecoming for the All Ireland Champions took place in Castlebar on Monday, July 27.
Andy Moran’s Mayo side created history when they defeated Kerry in last Sunday’s All Ireland Final ending a spell of 75 years without claiming the Sam Maguire Cup.
Celebrations were evident all over the County, however the official homecoming took place on Monday in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park where a huge crowd gathered. There was entertainment for hours but some people asked the question about The Saw Doctors performing there.
When asked about performing at a homecoming for the All Ireland Champions, The Saw Doctors guitarist Leo Moran revealed to The Mayo News that the band were asked. “We were asked but Davy was on a family holiday so he wasn't around so if it wasn't going to be him singing it, it wouldn't really hit the spot.”
Moran also spoke about performing in stadiums. “I'd love to play in McHale Park but you know stadiums are a bit ambitious for us, we're not really operating at the U2 level. Probably the TF is more our level.”
When asked if The Saw Doctors had any plans to perform in Mayo, the Galway native said “Yes, well there's talk of it now, maybe doing the TF but there's nothing arranged yet. We'd love to do it, absolutely.”
