Dare To Do Good is a student-led fundraising campaign at Dundalk Institute of Technology in support of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul which brings a range of fundraising events to campus, organised by third-year Digital Marketing students to raise funds and awareness for the charity.

Students from the Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) have started ‘Dare To Do Good’, student-led fundraising campaign at Dundalk Institute of Technology in support of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP).

The campaign will bring fundraising events to campus and is organised by third-year Digital Marketing students to raise funds and awareness for the charity.

Helen Grant, Area President of SVP Dundalk, welcomed the students efforts: “We are delighted that the third-year Digital Marketing students have chosen to support the Society of St Vincent de Paul through their Dare To Do Good campaign.

“Their generosity will help raise awareness of our work and make a real difference to individuals and families experiencing hardship locally. Every euro raised will help SVP Dundalk support those who need it most. We sincerely thank the students and staff for their wonderful initiative and support.”

The Dare To Do Good campaign features ten events, ranging from interactive challenges and games to food and entertainment.

The students hope their events will offer a fun break from the demands of college life while raising awareness of the challenges faced by people experiencing hardship and how donations can support SVP’s work in the local community.

These events include Dare to Pop, Dare to Try, Dare to Shine and Dare to Play among others.

At “Dare To Pop”, participants pop balloons to reveal challenges or prizes, while “Dare To Try” invites them to sample adventurous foods, such as pickles and mustard.

Those looking for refreshments can stop by “Fuel your Good Deed” for Red Bull and syrup-based drinks or “Dare To Freeze” for slush puppies.

For those who prefer a little competition, “Ball for Paul” offers four miniature games, including skittles and table tennis.

“Dare To Fly” challenges participants to jump and reach a target, while “Dare To Hold On” tests their grip strength in a hanging bar challenge.

The programme also includes “Dare To Play”, a charity football match, and “Dare To Shine”, a talent show celebrating student creativity.

Beyond the activities themselves, the initiative supports the work of SVP Dundalk, which helps individuals and families facing hardship in the local community.
