Reach Funding delivers funding to improve access and supports for educationally disadvantaged learners who participate in community education initiatives across Ireland. This year's funding will support a wide variety of initiatives including independent living skills programmes, family learning projects, disability inclusion initiatives, community integration activities, music therapy, creative arts programmes, men's and women's shed activities, a wild learning project, and opportunities for adults to develop new skills in welcoming and accessible community settings.

In County Louth, funding of €45,431.70 has been awarded to organisations delivering projects focused on community development, family learning, disability supports, migrant integration and social inclusion.

In County Meath, funding of €48,596.00 will support a range of initiatives including independent living skills, creative arts, music therapy, community wellbeing programmes, family learning opportunities and skills development projects.

Commenting on the funding, Sadie Ward McDermott, Director of Further Education and Training, said:

"Community education has a unique ability to reach people where they are, creating pathways to learning, confidence and participation within their own communities. The Reach Fund supports organisations that are making a meaningful difference in people's lives every day, ensuring that learning opportunities are inclusive, accessible and responsive to local needs. LMETB is delighted to support these projects across Meath and Louth and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have over the coming year."

LMETB says it would like to acknowledge and thank its Board for its ongoing support of community education initiatives, and to recognise the continued commitment of SOLAS and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) in supporting the Reach Fund and lifelong learning opportunities nationwide.
