A young Carlingford singer-songwriter is entering a new chapter with the release of his latest single, God Save Him, this Friday, September 4.

Adam Loughran, a 21-year-old independent artist from Carlingford, Louth, is releasing the cinematic pop track independently through his own imprint, Clocktower Records.

Described as a song about “the person who mastered looking innocent”, God Save Him explores betrayal, charm and the damage that can exist beneath a seemingly gentle exterior.

The track combines an intimate vocal, originally recorded in Loughran’s bedroom, with a much larger cinematic arrangement. Vintage organ, layered harmonies, marching percussion and a dramatic bridge give the song an almost ceremonial quality.

That contrast between the personal and the grand is central to Loughran’s musical identity. His work blends atmospheric pop production with diaristic storytelling, drawing on themes of love, memory, identity and emotional aftermath.

God Save Him follows Loughran’s previous releases, including I’ll Write a Song and his 2024 single Be Okay. The new track also marks the beginning of a wider four-chapter project, which will unfold over the coming months.

God Save Him is released on September 4 through Clocktower Records.
