Louth's Cllr Meenan selected for Board of LMETB

Louth County Council December meeting
Cllr Kevin Meenan was selected to fill a vacancy on the Board of Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) at the Louth County Council December meeting, held at the County Hall in Dundalk.
The vacancy arose following the resignation of Cllr Antóin Watters from the board which took effect from 16 September 2022.
Cllr Watters was originally nominated at the first Annual General Meeting of Louth County Council on 7 June 2019. The Grouping System was used in the nomination, which meant that therefore the nominee had to come from the members who originally formed the group. This comprised Cllr Watters; Cllr Kevin Meenan, who had been co-opted to Ruairí O Murchú TD's seat on the Council; Cllr Joanna Byrne; Cllr Tomás Sharkey; Cllr Edel Corrigan; and Cllr McGeough.
Nominating Cllr Meenan for the vacancy, Cllr Pearse McGeough said that any role undertaken by Cllr Meenan was carried out in a diligent and professional manner. The nomination was seconded by Cllr Joanna Byrne.
