Young volunteers help Dundalk Tidy Towns with Navvy Bank clean up

Group of volunteers from Oregon, USA took part in clean up
A group of young people from Oregon in the United States have volunteered this week to work with Dundalk Tidy Towns in a clean up of the Navvy Bank.
The group of around ten young men and women are working with the local Lighthouse Church, a Christian religious organisation, and along with helping out Dundalk Tidy Towns, are taking part in other activities including participating in 'outreach' programmes.
The group, who said they are enjoying their stay in Dundalk, have been taking part in a three day clean up at the Navvy Bank with Dundalk Tidy Towns, and have been stuck into cutting weeds and sweeping paths. According to Dundalk Tidy Towns, it is the beginning of a big project, to turn the Navvy Bank "into a proper amenity for the people of Dundalk".

It is a particularly busy time of the year for Dundalk Tidy Towns as assessment of participating towns in the Tidy Towns competition takes place during the months of June, July and August each year, on a date which is not specified.
