IT'S GOING to be a largely cloudy and dull to start to the Bank Holiday weekend with patches of mist and fog lingering along the coast for a time. It will turn brighter through this afternoon with sunny spells and scattered showers, the odd heavy shower possible. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light westerly breezes.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

Mixed weather with some rain and showers but with dry intervals as well. Temperatures reaching the mid to high teens in mostly light winds.

Clear spells tonight will way to mostly cloudy conditions building from the west, along with outbreaks of rain. Temperatures not falling below seven to 11 degrees in light variable breezes with fog patches developing.

Mostly cloudy tomorrow morning with some patchy light rain or drizzle. Good sunny spells will develop during the morning and afternoon along with scattered showers, possibly turning heavy in the northeast. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light southwesterly or variable breezes.

Clear spells and scattered showers at first tomorrow night before cloudier conditions and showery rain moves in from the west. Temperatures again not falling below seven to 11 degrees in light southerly or variable breezes.

On Sunday, showery rain in the morning will continue to clear eastwards to leave a day of sunny spells and widespread showers, some heavy. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, coolest along Atlantic coasts as light southwesterly breezes gradually increase moderate westerly. The showers will become more isolated early in the night with cloud building in from the northwest. Temperatures not falling below seven to 10 degrees.

Bank Holiday Monday will see sunny spells and scattered showers for the morning and afternoon, with most areas becoming dry towards evening as the showers largely die out. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees generally in a mostly light northwesterly wind.

Current indications suggest that there will be a good deal of dry weather through midweek at least with just some showers. Temperatures continuing to reach the mid to high teens with mostly light winds.
