PERMISSION has been sought to change the use of an unutilised building in Ennis.

The site, which used to hold a former car hire service is hoped to become an open air eatery to revive the unused premises.

Within the plan, the applicant looks to introduce an ice cream vending unit, with toilet facilities and a "foodie yard" under a steel and perspex covered gazebo.

Food is said to be prepared off-site, before being served at the "foodie yard" by three operators. Available in the covered area will be seating for approximately 40 people, and associated toilet facilities.

Trader hours are reported to be 12pm to 8pm, not seven days a week.

No decision has yet been made on the proposal, but the documents can be viewed or inspected at the Clare County Council buildings, Ennis, during its public opening hours.
