Community comes together in Croom to support twins fighting life-limiting disease

A tuition centre has raised over €1,000 to help two boys in their battle against Duchenne muscular dystrophy
HILL View School House, a private tuition centre, based in Croom, has raised over €1,200 for the Join Our Boys charity to help raise funds for two boys living with a fatal disease.
Limerick primary school teacher and owner of the tuition centre Sharon Hourihane said it was a "special day" at the school house as they held a fundraising event for twins George and Isaac Naughton last Sunday. "Hill View community came together and two Sunday social clubs were run back to back with all proceeds going to a very worthy cause."
The tuition centre provides support for all children with a focus on those with additional needs. Ms Hourihane previously highlighted that she believes the education system is failing children with additional needs along with other HSE bodies.
The Join Our Boys trust was set up in 2014 when three brothers Archie, George and Isaac Naughton from Co Roscommon were diagnosed with the fatal life limiting disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Sadly, Archie passed away over two years ago and twins George and Isaac are fundraising to save their hearts and slow down the deadly disease.
Duchenne affects every muscle in the body and the boys are now paralysed. They are hoping to raise enough money to travel to America to take part in a clinical trial.
The GoFundMe in aid of the two boys has received over 21,000 donations and raised over €653,000 to date.
