TWO Community groups in Limerick have received donations from the Parkway Retail Park just in time for Christmas.

As the retail park on the Dublin Road looks to the opening of the new flagship DECATHLON store, it is looking to give back to the local community.

Cheques for €500 were presented to both St Munchin’s Community Enterprise Centre and Geraldines AFC.

The money will be used by St Munchin’s Centre to pay for its Christmas Party for the elderly which returns this year after a three year pause due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Geraldine’s AFC is a volunteer-run football club founded in 1937 catering for teams from under 7 up to junior level across the parishes of St Patricks and St Johns and beyond. It's fundraising has been severely impacted over the last three years due to the pandemic.  placeholder image

Commenting on the donation, Niall McNelis of the Parkway Retail Park said: “We are very proud to have been able to contribute to supporting local community groups and sports clubs through our community grant programme and we’re pleased to see the impact of our donation in supporting organisations across local communities in Limerick.

“This shows how the Parkway Retail Park is committed to investing and partnering with local communities and charities across Limerick and we want to continue this partnership into 2023.”
