World Cup Final tickets still available - unlike tickets for Limerick v Galway at Croke Park!

IF YOU’VE a few thousand euro to spare, it's easier to get into Sunday night's World Cup final than the All-Ireland hurling final.

Tickets for Sunday’s All-Ireland final at Croke Park in Dublin are like hen’s teeth to come by, with no public sale.

Both the All-Ireland senior football and hurling finals are the hardest tickets to get in Irish sport, with no general sale in most years.

Instead, the 82,300-plus seats in Croke Park are divided between season ticket holders of the finalists, the competing county boards, other county boards and GAA clubs, premium and corporate tickets, referees, schools, volunteers, and Croke Park residents and staff among others.

Of course, demand often outweighs supply.

Tickets rarely appear on secondary ticketing websites such as Viagogo or StubHub. The GAA's ticket terms prohibit selling, advertising or offering tickets for resale above face value and recommend supporters buy only through official channels.

The GAA's ticket terms prohibit selling, advertising or offering to sell tickets above face value, with the association recommending only buying tickets through official channels.

The GAA also says it reserves the right to cancel tickets it believes have been resold in breach of its terms, refuse entry, ban those involved from future ticket purchases and, in some circumstances, pursue legal action.

It’s a different story for soccer, however, with dozens of tickets still available for Sunday night’s Fifa World Cup Final, on secondary websites.

However, you’d need to have deep deep pockets - with tickets for the game at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, starting at more than €7,000 on Stubhub and Viagogo.

They are even more expensive on Fifa's official ticket resale platform, which is the only authorised resale channel for the match.

And that’s even before you consider the sky high Transatlantic flights!
