Limerick firm ‘steels’ the show
A LIMERICK steel firm has won two top industry awards.
OMC Technologies, based at Ballysimon Road on the outskirts of the city, was nominated at the inaugural awards which took place in Portlaoise.
The firm was named winner in the ‘extra mile’ category for health and safety.
It comes after staff designed an app for its employees which provides instant health and safety updates.
The app is also used by project managers covering areas such as tracking hours, real time messaging, day works management and other project specific communications.
The firm also took a runner-up award in the finished projects category for the completion of its work at the Blasket Centre Viewing Platform.
Workers at the company designed, fabricated and installed the structure on the Kerry coastline looking to the Blasket islands.
