Limerick-headquartered engineering firm to create 250 jobs in USA as it grows presence

LIMERICK-headquartered engineering and commission specialist DECI Ltd is to create 250 jobs in an expansion to America.
DECI, which is based at Childers Road in the city suburbs, is opening an office in Chicago.
It comes as the firm ramps up its presence across the Atlantic, where it is already working on a number of large-scale data centre projects.
Its new base in Illinois will support DECI’s growing team of engineers and project teams on the ground in the USA.
At the same time, it will give clients faster access to the firm’s specialist teams throughout the planning, testing, and performance-verification stages of a project.
Deci managing director Colm Phelan said: “Expanding our North American presence with the opening of our Chicago office is a defining moment for DECI in the US.
"It puts us closer to our clients, suppliers and the wider construction community, and it strengthens our ability to deliver the rigorous CxA commissioning and testing that mission-critical projects demand, right where our clients need us.”
CxA, or commissioning authority, is the process of independently testing and verifying a building’s systems to ensure they are installed and operating as intended.
DECI officials marked the occasion of its US expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception at the new office in Chicago, joined by clients, suppliers, and colleagues who have supported the company's growth in the region.
DECI exists to transform engineering and construction project visions into a reality.
It provides commissioning, testing, project management services, and quality and tracking documentation for mission-critical, life sciences, and energy projects worldwide.
It has a second Irish operation in Naas, County Kildare.
On top of this, it operates in Britain, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, India, and Saudi Arabia.
Founded back in 1994, DECI has projects ongoing in more than 20 countries.
