Low blood stocks bring new Easter donation clinics to Limerick

NEW clinics are opening across Limerick county this Easter due to an urgent appeal for blood donations.
According to a spokesperson for the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS), blood is currently in "high demand from the hospitals."
To tackle this, the spokesperson stated, "we are urging donors to make and keep appointments so that the hospital demand for blood can be met over the Easter period."
The first donation clinic will be held at Devon Inn Templeglantine, on Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 12 from 4:45pm to 8pm.
The following day, St. Munchins College in Corbally will hold their clinic on Thursday, April 13 from 4:45pm to 8pm.
The Community Centre, Foynes will finally hold their donation clinic on Sunday, April 16 from 11:45am to 3pm.
According to the spokesperson for IBTS, "stocks of O Neg, B Neg and A Neg are low," but they added that "all blood types are needed."
