New volume of popular photo book released

Sean Curtin has compiled the book which is the 24th volume of the photography book
EX-COLUMNIST and long-serving Limerick Leader employee Sean Curtin is taking another trip down memory lane with the release of Volume 24 of his photography book, Limerick – a Stroll Down Memory Lane.
He formerly worked for the newspaper for almost 45 years and he enjoyed collecting photos and sports memorabilia.
He says: “Over the years it has grown to quite a collection of photographs because people now have given me their own collections.” In 2001, he decided to publish one book but it was so successful that he had to reprint it twice more.
The new volume features old photos of the city and county with text describing the image.
Speaking about the highlights in this volume, Sean said there's a photo of a group of children playing on the streets in Janesboro, taken in the fifties. “You'd seldom see that these days.”
He also highlighted snaps of the opening of Limerick's first five-star supermarket and the late Willie Naughton's retirement party.
Sean has always been interested in photography and likes to think of himself as kind of a “pictorian,” a picture historian.
