The homeowners saw the thief on CCTV

THERE WAS no love lost on Valentine's Day as a Limerick homeowner reported a theft from his house.

The man in his 40s who lives in Castletroy reported to gardaí in Henry Street that a parcel was taken from outside his home.

He had received a notification that it had been delivered but there was no sign of it.

When he looked at his CCTV footage, he could see a male run from a car to his front door and pick up the parcel before returning to the car and driving off.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry Street garda station said: "If you are expecting a parcel delivery, it is wise to be there to collect it yourself or arrange for somebody to take it in for you; a parcel at a door also shouts that the house is vacant."
