SOME new students have turned up for college, but they’ve made their mooove a bit late into the year!

A number of cattle, in their udder excitement to sit their midterms, breached the fence of the field they were residing in and started making their way to the University of Limerick.

Councillor Pádraigh Reale shared photos and a video of the cows on the riverside walk on his Instagram page on Wednesday, October 28.

“Some cattle have breached the fence at the fields behind Travel Lodge, Dublin Road and are heading up Plassey towards UL if anyone knows and can contact owner. Thanks”, he wrote in his post.

It’s possible that the cattle herd about the legen-dairy Halloween festivities going on in the college and wanted to join in.

Unfortunately, their plan to pass off as two first-years in a cow costume did not go to plan.

A source close to the cows confirmed that the cattle misunderstood the phrase “party animal”, and the added confusion of the bar being called “The Stables” did not help matters.

Limerick Live understands that it’s likely the animals will return to the university’s party scene for Cow-llege Christmas in a few weeks’ time.
