Santa ditches chimney to scale Limerick hotel

WITH Christmas now firmly on the horizon, Santa Claus made his way down from the North Pole to scale Ireland’s tallest hotel, the Clayton in Limerick city.
Father Christmas was on hand to launch its Christmas season, and deliver brochures to those who are interested in organising their festive nights with the hotel this December.
“As soon as the elves finished making these brochures I jumped in my sleigh and landed on top of the Clayton,” said Santa.
To his dismay, however, he discovered there was no chimney which left him having to crawl down the side of the complex.
Already, two Christmas nights at the hotel are sold out, so the message from sales and marketing manager Elaine Ryan is to book early!
The four-star hotel has six Christmas party nights featuring Limerick band The Prophets, a late-night DJ, four-course meal, welcome drinks and nibbles.
The cost is €72 per person, or people can gather with friends, family or colleagues in Grill Bar and Restaurant or Waterfront Restaurant with finger food, lunch and dinner options starting from €15.95 per person. Telephone 061-444105.
