The notice continued: “Sinéad is very sadly missed by her heartbroken parents Denis and Joan, sister Róisín, Róisín’s partner Colum, aunts, uncle, cousins and her large circle of friends in Ireland and Scotland.

“Sinéad will forever be in our thoughts.”

Sinéad’s colleagues at West Limerick Sports Complex have paid a heartfelt tribute to their friend and co-worker, saying her absence “will be heavily felt”.

In a statement, the complex said: “It is with our deepest regret that we inform you of the sudden passing of our colleague and friend, Sinead Collins.

“This news is a profound shock to all of us. Sinead was a valued member of our team, and her absence will be heavily felt. She was passionate about her job and loved meeting all our members. We are all the better for having known her.

“Right now, our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Sinead’s family and loved ones. We are offering our full support to her family.”

The West Limerick Sports Complex also announced that it would close on Sunday, October 18, as a mark of respect for Sinéad and her family.

“Let’s please keep Sinead’s family in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. May She Rest in Peace,” they posted.

Friends have also taken to social media to share their memories of Sinéad, with many remembering her kindness, humour and compassion.

One friend from Glasgow wrote: “My deepest condolences to the family. Sinead was the kindest, most principled and funny person. I’ll miss our chats about politics, nonsense and, of course, cats so much. She was the best of us.”

A friend, who had known Sinéad online for five years, described her as a thoughtful and kind person who sought to make the world a better place.

“It was a blessing to have known Sinéad online for the past five years. She was always thoughtful and kind and sought to make the world a better place. Talking with her so often made my day better. My thoughts are with all her family and loved ones.”

Councillor Liam Galvin, an Abbeyfeale native and relation of Sinéad told Limerick Live: “It’s just tragic. The town is just devastated for the family.

“There’s no other way of describing this. This is the second daughter they’re burying.

“Its heartbreaking. The parish’s hearts are breaking for them.”

A private cremation service will take place at Shannon Crematorium this Monday, October 19, at 4pm for family and close friends.
