'A place where so many of us made great memories,' Tipperary tennis club issues statement

Fethard Tennis Club has issued a statement stating that the popular club is re-opening.

In a statement, the club said: "Many of us have been working hard in the background trying to make this happen but we will need your help.

"Our long term goal is to get the courts resurfaced and we intend to apply for funding to do this.

"This can be a lengthy process and will take some time.

"In the meantime to get the club up and running and hopefully playable by this summer we need to get the courts professionally cleaned, painted, have nets erected, fencing between the courts and take out insurance for the club.

"We will need in the region of €10,000 to get the courts up and running.

"We are seeking your support to help us get the project off the ground.

"We have received some funding to date from local businesses around Fethard which we really appreciate and all sponsorship will be acknowledged on our social media over the coming days.

"We really need everyone’s help with this. How great would it be to have the tennis courts up and running this summer where so many of us made great memories and can now make many more.

"We would like to thank anyone who has donated so far. It’s a great start."

Donations can be made by cheque payable to Fethard Tennis Club or by bank transfer.
