Tipperary boss Liam Cahill has won his appeal against a four week side-line ban which was imposed earlier this week.

The Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) proposed a four week suspension plus a one match ban which would have seen the Ballingarry club man miss out on Sunday’s game against Waterford and a potential Munster final if the Premier were to reach it.

However, after an appeal from Tipperary GAA the suspension has been successfully contested and Tipp will now be fully focused heading into this weekend.

In a press release from the GAA, it stated the following was decided after last night's hearing: "Liam Cahill requested a hearing which took place on May 25th.

"The Central Hearings Committee found the infraction not proven, and so no penalty is imposed.

"Having considered all evidence provided and the submissions made on behalf of both parties, it was the decision of the Central Hearings Committee that the evidence presented by Liam Cahill did contradict the Referee's report."

He will now be able to prepare the team for Sunday's final Munster round robin clash against Waterford, with Tipperary needing a win to fully secure their passage out of the province, and a place against Clare in the Munster final.
