He says he is back in training and wants to have another go at senior level

A retired Tipperary GAA legend has said he is set to make a return to inter-county hurling should he get the call.

The All-Star and all-around legend in the Premier County has been in training for months now doing 5km runs as well as swimming in his local pool and taking the stairs more.

Sources have confirmed that the hurling hero, aged well over 50 now, says he is back in training and wants to have another go at senior level and has been hitting the ball off his garage wall every day after his egg and toast.

Tipperary GAA has yet to confirm whether the hurling legend's exploits are on its radar and whether it will consider him for this year's senior hurling panel.

A source close to the hurler, said, "they'd want to hurry up".
