Call for action to prevent Tipperary graveyard track used by hearses from subsiding

The track used by undertakers to bring coffins into Tyone cemetery outside Nenagh is subsiding, Cllr Hughie McGrath told the July meeting of Nenagh Municipal District Council.
Cllr McGrath said that, unless something was done, the track was going to “get to the stage where hearses can’t make it into the cemetery”.
He was supported by Cllr John Carroll, who said that there was a need to contact the new owners of land beside the cemetery.
Cllr Seamus Morris pointed out that he had asked that the pathway at Tyone be protected when the adjacent land was being sold.
