Cashel Garda Station refurbishment on schedule for end of summer completion

The update was given in response to a parliamentary question submit by TD Michael Lowry
The upgrade works at the Cashel Garda Station are on schedule to be completed by the end of August.
That is according to Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works Kieran O'Donnell in response to a parliamentary question submitted by Tipperary TD Michael Lowry.
Deputy Lowry asked the minister for a status update on the works at Cashel Garda Station on Hogan Square.
He also asked when the separate budget for the civil works, specifically for the development of a car park and associated provisions.
And finally, if those works would be done in conjunction with the current works.
On July 23, Mr O'Donnell said the OPW can confirm that the works, which started in November last year, are continuing on site and the end August remains the expected completion date.
The works include the upgrade of the external building fabric, to include roof works, windows, doors, and external insulation along with the conversion of the married quarters to office accommodation and internal interconnection of the new offices with the station.
However, the Minister for State said these works do not include civil works.
"Any proposal to develop this area for car parking usage and the funding of same is a matter for An Garda Síochána to address," said Mr O'Donnell.
