CBS Thurles staff and students face off in charity soccer match

Our sixth-year students and teachers played at a charity soccer match in aid of Autism Assistance Dogs, Ireland. €720 was raised for this wonderful charity. Well done boys.

The game had lots of goals and plenty of controversy. The students went a goal up following an Oisin Dwan handball in the box to deflect the ball into the teacher's goal. Mr Flynn struck early in the second half.

David Purcell finished neatly after some nice play from the sixth year with a few minutes left to play. Mr Martin Maher shipped a heavy challenge in the box to win a penalty which Mr Flynn tucked away in the corner of the net to leave the game level at 2-2 with time almost up.

Well done to all the players for taking part and to Mr Stokes for being the referee for the game.
