The family of the Co Tipperary chef who was murdered in the US last week has thanked the Nenagh community for their support.

Nenagh native Shaun Brady was shot dead in an altercation outside his restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday, August 28.

Mr Brady was reportedly targeted as he intervened in a suspected robbery in a parking lot. Two male juveniles have been charged with second degree murder.

Mr Brady was the co-owner and chef of an Irish restaurant called Brady and Fox.

Since the tragic news broke out, tributes have been pouring in for Mr Brady.

"The family would like to thank the communities of both Kansas City and Nenagh for all their support and messages during this harrowing time," read a note on a Rip.ie notice.

“This guy. A heart bigger than the planet.  Shaun had a very integral part in my chef life, others’ careers and the beautiful Kansas City community beyond. Sending so much love to him, his legacy, all that he has built, his beautiful family and world-encompassing group of friends,” a friend wrote in tribute.

“By his kindness, he showed others how to be kind. Today, our community continues to mourn the sudden loss of Shaun Brady, and we are very sorry for this loss and mourn alongside you all. We thank him for his spirit, kindness, and support of our mission and many others throughout his community,” paid Rose Brooks Center in tribute.

“Words of Sympathy feel inadequate in expressing grief and sorrow for a loss so great. Our condolences to your family and to you. Shaun Brady someone who brought a smile to every occasion. Very good Chef and better friend,” wrote staff of the Chef Tito’s restaurant.

Shaun was the beloved husband of Katie, doting father to Seamus and Mary. Loving son of Mary. Brother to Vivian, Sandra and Damien. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, mother, sisters and brother, nieces and nephews, extended family relatives and friends.
