Gaelscoil Bhríde crowned u13 Premier Credit Union Schools Quiz winners

There were jubilant scenes in the Presentation Secondary School hall on Friday night, when our Quiz team were crowned U13 winners in the Premier Credit Union School Quiz.

The Primary School Quiz made a welcome return this year, the first since Covid hit, so there was much anticipation in advance of the event.

Bhí gach duine ag súil go mór leis an ócáid agus ag obair go dian, ag ullmhú!

The school was gallantly represented by two teams, at U11 and U13 level and both acquitted themselves so well, amassing two great scores.

Principal Labhaoise Ní Chuinneagáin reported:

“Much preparation and work had been done by the super Tráth na gCeist group who meet twice a week researching topics and practicing questions.

“I knew that the hard work and commitment of these fantastic pupils would stand them in good stead! And so it came to pass.

“The school is so proud to be representing the Thurles/ Roscrea/Urlingford/ Killenaule Common Bond area in Stage two of the U 13 Competition.

Guímid gach ádh orthu sa chéad bhabhta eile. Táimid an-bhródúil as a ngaisce.”

Bhí dhá fhoireann ónár scoil ag glacadh páirt agus d’éirigh go geal leo!

Our U11 team of Erin Ní Ógáin, Caitlín Ní Riain, Fiadh Ní Dhonnchaidh and Sophie Ní hAodha represented our school in style.

Our U13 team of Muireann Ní Chathasaigh, Caoimhe Ní Shleibhín, Liam Ó Gormáin and Cathal Ó Cradóg put in a powerful performance and emerged overall winners on the night with four points to spare over the second place team.

The team will now go forward to represent the school and the Thurles/Roscrea area at Chapter Level on March 1.
