Thursday, September 21 was a historic day for the Ursuline Secondary School Thurles in that it marked the beginning of a new era of togetherness and co-operation between all the Ursuline Schools in Ireland.

The Opening of the Year Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral of the Assumption and attended by all students and staff of the Secondary School.

UCT was by representative students and teachers from most of the other Ursuline Primary and Post Primary Schools around the country, with those who could not be there in person watching online.

The Senior Orchestra and both Cecelian and Chamber Choirs of Thurles provided musical accompaniment and some of the school’s traditional and classical instrumentalists performed solos and duets.
