International success for Thurles cross country star

Congratulations to Ursuline first-year Cross Country runner Tianna O’Leary who has capped off her first Cross Country season at Secondary School with a team silver medal in her debut International outing for her country.

Tianna won the county championships back in November, which was followed up with a win at the South East Munsters.

She finished in third place in the Munsters in February. She placed fifth in the All Ireland’s earlier this month, a strong finish which secured her a place on the Irish Cross Country team.

Today she was the youngest of the eight-strong Irish team, and finished fifth scorer of the Irish side who completed the course just marginally ahead of Wales, to win silver.

Everyone in UCT is so proud of her success.

Well done to her and to all the Ursulines who took part in all cross-country competitions this year.
