LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: 'Lack of success of Tipp team in 2022 wasn't a management problem'

In this week's Nationalist and Tipperary Star
‘A GENTLEMAN’
Tribute to Tony Brosnan
Sir,
In my humble opinion there are only two great institutions left standing in this country, the GAA and the Credit Unions.
All the rest have collapsed.
The recent celebrations of the Clonmel Credit Union’s 60th birthday was tinged with much sadness with the passing last April of former manager and President Tony Brosnan.
Once again the town of Clonmel lost someone it could ill afford to and whose like we are unlikely to see again. Tony was a gentleman who emanated presence, substance, character and kindness. His life was gentle, two minutes in his company made you realise just how gentle he was.
He was the embodiment of that older, better code where you tried to make the lives of your neighbour and your community better.
He had a proper understanding of what a sense of community actually meant. His only concern was for the welfare of his friends and neighbours.
I hope that when we all think of him now, we will think as he did of all those who have no one else to care for their concerns.
He gave his strength for those who were weak.
He gave his voice for those who had no special interest to speak for them, and he always remembered those who were forgotten.
He had an uncommon feeling for the common people who make our society work.
For all of us who loved and respected him, he will always be here with us, we will never leave him.

The editor:
So, it appears now that the lack of success of the Tipperary team in 2022 wasn’t a management problem after all!
