Join us in The Source Library, Thurles, on Tuesday, February 20, for Gavin Wilk’s lecture, But while I may be an Exile: Tipperary Republicans in New York during the Great Depression.

Gavin will examine the lives of Tipperary republicans who emigrated to New York after the Irish revolution and will specifically look at their lives during the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Using a variety of resources, he will describe how these men and women worked, socialised and survived during the turbulent era and also talk on the transatlantic links that existed and provided support for them. Gavin works in University of Limerick.
