'Some areas might be picturesque but don't take the chance to drive,' Tipp garda warning

With the cold spell persisting for the next couple of days across Tipperary, travelling conditions are expected to be challenging, say gardaí.

They added: "Please only take to the roads if absolutely necessary.

"Some areas high up might be picturesque however don’t take the chance to drive and result in having to be rescued. If you do have to take to the roads: drive slow, don’t become distracted, the road requires 100% attention 100% of the time, allow ample room to the car in front, tyres in good condition.

"And ring 999/112 incase of emergency."
