6. Ronan Maher (Thurles Sarsfields) This will be short and sweet as I have ran out of things to say about Maher. He made nearly every team of the week this year, and he was key in Thurles' good form. The respect he is shown by teams is unreal, with the talk all year in the analysis being how to avoid the man at the heart of the Sarsfields defence. Unreal.

7. Decky McGrath (Kiladangan) Kiladangan are a team full of quality operators but few stood up with the same consistency as Decky McGrath this year. Even in the early parts of the championship when the team weren' at their best, he remained consistent and his displays in both the county final and replay were exceptional, setting up goals and scoring at key moments. A very intelligent hurler.

8. Stephen Cahill (Thurles Sarsfields) While he will be disappointed with his performance in the replayed final, prior to that Cahill was one of the most impressive midfielders on show this championship. He was the key cog in terms of setting up attacks; the foil between attack and defence and his scoring contributions were huge in their run. As classy a stickman as there is in Tipperary club hurling.

9. Tadhg Gallagher (Kiladangan) Gallagher's midfield partner in this team got the better of him in the drawn final, but Gallagher had the lat laugh with a savage effort in the replay where he hit 0-3 and dominated midfield. All year, he has been the consistent player for Kiladangan and his boundless energy was integral.
