Tipperary hurling legend is hurling up a storm for London!

Out in west Tipperary it is all about staying going and hurling til the last ball. Fiachra O'Keefe does just that. The Clonoulty Rossmore native played on his home turf for many years and won many titles with the west Tipp club.

In recent years he made the move abroad and at the weekend the experienced forward shone for London in the Christy Ring cup as he took to the field in Ruislip. Fiachra scored a goal for his side in their exciting 4-17 to 1-24 win over Meath. The teams were level at half time with the scoreline London 2-7 Meath 0-13 but London, buoyed up by strong home support, got to grips with the visitors. Fiachra O'Keefes good form on the field has been an important factor all season and he was also on the scoresheet the previous week hitting two points in their narrow defeat to Sligo at Markievicz Park.

Now hurling with Thomas McCurtains club, Fiachra is never too far from home with another Tipp native hurling alongside him for the big smoke crew. Eoghan Ryan, who hails from Loughmore Castleiney, also practices the ancient art of hurling in East London and lines out regularly on the half back line for the Kevin McMullan managed London side.

All in Tipperary will follow the progress of the Tipperary duo across the rest of their campaign to take the Christy Ring cup to the banks of the river Thames. We wish them both well.
