6. Ronan Maher Rating: 7/10 He epitomised Tipperary’s topsy turvy effort from the first half into the second half. He lacked the composure and certainty over the ball that we have become accustomed to, and some second guessing on his part of possession led to the second Cork goal. He improved hugely in the second half and looked more settled with a little more structure in front of him, and that will be a positive for him and Tipperary.

7. Bryan O'Mara Rating: 7/10 Ironically, this poor Tipperary performance coincided with easily one of O’Mara’s best performances of the league. He picked up Diarmuid Healy and Shane Barrett at different times during the game and - particularly in defensive situations - he got in flicks, tackles and interventions that have been a problem for him in games this year. He misused possession a few times in the first half. On one occasion he fired a poor delivery straight into the gleeful hands of Ciaran Joyce who had acres to fire over a long range point. Still, he was one of Tipperary’s better performers on the day.

8. Craig Morgan Rating: 6/10 It wasn’t a lack of effort or possessions on the ball that undid Morgan in the midfield battle, but he was left to plough a lone furrow during the first half as Ethan Twomey and Tim O’Mahony ran amok. Morgan was quite prominent in that time but he was possibly the only player in the middle eight players that broke even, and as such, he was a victim of the porosity. Overall it has been a good league campaign for Morgan who has looked the part in the games he has played.

11. Willie Connors Rating: 4/10 The less said about this game, the better for Connors. He was thrust in at 11 and while it was unexpected, it just didn’t work as the Kiladangan man was chasing shadows for the whole of his time on the pitch. Withdrawn in the middle of the first half which has been a story of the second half of his league campaign as a whole.
