Tipperary participants praised for beginning six-week long sports programme

The first session of the programme began this week in Nenagh
Local walkers have participated in the first session of a six-week walking programme, which is being run by Tipperary Sports Partnership in Nenagh.
This week the first session of the Activator Walking Programme took place in Nenagh Town Park.
Sports administrator of the programme, Mary Stephens, said: "A big well done to all participants who joined us for this 6 week programme which is designed to enhance mobility, strength, balance and aerobic fitness."
The programme invites participants to use activator poles which help provide support and stability for walkers.
"Activator poles are an excellent tool for staying active, offering added support and stability for participants of all ages and abilities.
"They are particularly beneficial for those recovering from or preparing for hip or knee surgery helping to improve posture, increase walking efficiency and reduce the impact on joints." said Mary.
