Tipperary tenor Michael Molumby heading to London to perform at gala concert

Tipperary Tenor Michael Molumby is heading to London to headline along with the Kilkennys at a gala concert.
The newly constructed theatre in the Salvatorian College is the place to be on Saturday February 4 at 7.30pm. Together with the college and the parish of St. Joseph’s, Triskelion Theatre Productions are hosting a Gala Irish Concert.
Headlining the concert is the ever-popular globally The Kilkennys Four Piece Folk Band. Picking up the mantle left by acts such as The Dubliners and The Clancy Brothers, the group continue to conquer tour circuits in Europe and the U.S., and our Feb 4th is their only London concert on current tour.
The Kilkennys have shared the stage with renowned Irish artists such as Shane McGowan, Sharron Shannon and Finbar Furey (who headlined at a previous Triskellion Productions Concert).
Gerry Molumby and Patrick O'Connell from Triskellion Theatre have produced this gala showcase to celebrate Irish Diaspora Culture in Britain and support a London based Irish charity ‘Action Against Hunger.’
Working out of Westminster Cathedral these volunteers distribute, at various points throughout the week. over two hundred freshly cooked meals, backpacks, welfare packs, waterproof jackets and trousers, underwear and socks, sweets, drinks, and various food items. But most of all they spent time talking to people living on the streets of London over tea and homemade cake.
Also on the bill and direct from Thurles is Gerry's brother the Irish Tenor Michael Molumby. Literally a leading voice in his native Thurles town cathedral choir and musical society. Singing songs from the great West End Shows Michael will enthral the audience. His recent CD, Circling the Square featuring musical and Irish ballads, raised over £20,000 for Tipperary Hospice.
Fermanagh native but Harrow based Paul Rooney, known professionally as Slim Attraction always gets the audience off their seats and on the dance floor with his medleys of Irish and County greats. From Kingsbury will be more dancers from Scoil Rince Ryan Lavelle. When you see them dance you will see them live up to their mission: ‘to bring together everyone from young children all the way to young adults to have fun whilst learning to dance.’
The show will not be without a touch of comedy as the hosts, Gerry Molumby and Patrick O’Connell are bound to get involved. A charity raffle will be held to raise funds for Irish in London (Action Against Hunger).
The concert will be filmed for Irish in UK tv, and guest of honour will be Michael Lonergan Counsellor (Political Affairs), Embassy of Ireland, London.
