Tipperary woman - who left Mullinahone for Manchester at 15-years-old - passes away

So sad!
The death has taken place of Ellen "Nellie" Cronin (née Pollard) Irishtown, county Mayo, formerly Manchester and Kilvemnon, Mullinahone.
Nellie was predeceased by her parents Mikey and Mary Pollard, her sister Mamie Crotty and her grandson Seán Cronin.
She is sadly missed by her husband of 63 years Tommy, her sons Gerard and Michael, her daughter Patricia, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Mickey, Jimmy, Joe, Bill and John and sisters Kitty, Ann, Nora and extended family.
Nellie at the age of 15-years-old left Mullinahone for Manchester, where a few years later she met Cavan man Tommy.
For many years they resided in Manchester where they reared their family and eventually moved back to Irishtown in county Mayo.
Nellie always loved to come "home" every summer to Mullinahone and loved nothing better than a game of cards in Cahills pub and meeting old friends.
Nellie never lost her love for Tipperary and proudly flew the blue and gold flag for all big games.
In the words of her daughter Patricia: "The brightest star is now shining over Slievenamon".
May your gentle soul rest in peace, Nellie.
